Space Kätzle

About

MONSTER SYDENHAM REMIX! Frankfurt’s eclectic duo of C-Rock & Matthias Vogt return with their second release on Aus. They have released records under the moniker of Motorcitysoul for the past three years, putting out on Infracom, Stir15 and LoFi Stereo. Hailing from Germany’s own motown, the pair have developed a reputation for creating soulful and deep house that more than competes with their Stateside counterparts, typified by their celebrated collaboration with vocalist Chez Damier ‘Kids In The Streets’ in 2005. ‘Space Katzle’ has a beautifully simple yet immediately recognizable chord sequence, with layers of sparkling melody that cascade down the stereo pallet for what is a true end of the night anthem. For the remix Jerome Sydenham toughens up the drums, adds a delicate tom pattern and backs up the original melody with his own chords taking the Space Cats (Space Katzle) into a darker more tribal place. Exactly what we hoped he’d to do actually! Jerome Sydenham is the New York based DJ, producer, A&R and label owner of Ibadan Recordings and 10 Beat. Since the 80s he’s been forging a path in electronic music alongside his commercial career at EastWest, working closely with Kerri Chandler and Joe Claussell, bringing respect and a wider audience for deep house. Amen!
