Active since the early ‘90s, House & Techno mainstay Steve Bug requires little introduction, having contributed to the likes of Bedrock, Knee Deep In Sound, Minus, Cocoon, and Defected, alongside running his own Poker Flat and Sublease Music labels, amongst others. Now making his return to Will Saul’s Aus Music following his ‘Back To ‘95’ EP in 2022, the Berlin-based DJ/producer readies three bumping House tracks across his new EP, ‘Piano FM’.
Title track ‘Piano FM’ leads the release, bringing thumping kicks, soaring vocal samples, and piano stabs together for a chunky house jam topped off with deep, rubbery bass. ‘The Moment’ forms a shuffling groove, peppered with dubbed-out samples and rolling chord progressions for a heads-down groover. ‘Use Me’combines swirling keys and pitch-perfect drums with bouncing low-end, emotive vocal snippets, and subtle synth licks, rounding out a standout EP from one of the best to do it.
