Labour EP

About

AUS Music round out 2015 by welcoming Shenoda, long term label friend and one time remixer, for his first full length EP. Originally hailing from Cambridge, Shenoda has been on AUS’ radar for some time. Records on Electric Minds, Hypercolour, and ManMakeMusic have dependably carried forth a hefty punch and have managed to tap into stylistic features of House and modern Techno in a manner that marries his sound perfectly with that of AUS. His latest offering is no exception: 4 capacious jams built for a brimful floor.’Labour’ gets things going and typifies Shenoda’s sound which sets hats and snares scuffling over darting rave stabs locked to a resistless groove. ‘If I Could’ continues with ruthless, full-bodied drums driving mournful synth-strings nicely contrasted against sharp, metallic bass stabs. ‘Streak’ then follows up and is the record’s most allaying cut - glacial sweeps are entangled with stuttered vocals before ‘Sunbeam Bloodstream’ melds loose-limbed hat patterns with boiling synth lines and an intense cyclical sequence. Rapturous string riffs are then layered with swirling chords that bring the EP to a wide-eyed conclusion and wrap up another
