About
‘Soon’ is the second single taken from Lee Jones’ forthcoming debut album on Aus. Essex bred Lee Jones lived in London until 2002, where he was producing and remixing as the downtempo/ nu-jazz artist Hefner. After following his heart to Berlin, he was inspired by the music and clubs to move into a new production style and for the past 3 years he’s been the creative production force behind My My, whose debut album ‘Songs For The Gentle’ made waves across the globe. Since 2007 he has released his beautiful solo works on Aus, whilst also collaborating with Berlin local hero Daniel Dreier on releases for Upon You and releasing new My My material on Berlin’s illustrious Ostgut Ton imprint. He performs live dates with Nick Höppner as My My but he’s also DJing across Europe regularly and continues to promote the popular monthly clubnight at Watergate ‘My My and friends..’. His debut solo album ‘Electronic Frank’ is released on Aus Music on 29 September. ‘Soon’: Quirky and playful. Inviting and detailed. Full of real instrumentation and uplifting, yet introspective and often melancholic melody. The pace is gentle, the vibe relaxed. Individually sung words and vocal snippets lend a human touch and when layered with an imaginary orchestra full of all manor of weird and wonderful instruments it creates a dramatic effect. ‘Soon (Moles MMD Remix)’: Woah! The Mole takes us into his hole….and it’s a deep one at that. He cuts up the vocals and uses fragments for percussive hits and layers for melodic textures. A truly hypnotic excursion that is all about the wickedly infectious groove that will not let you go..… ‘The Secret’: Reminiscent of early Isolee with discordant melodies combining with a deliciously soulful lead line. The groove is stripped back giving the melodies a feeling of space and power. ‘MDMAzing’: We think the title says it all. Don’t take it too seriously, it’s supposed to make you smile.
