Shenoda

Biog

London based Shenoda has been quietly going about his business for a while now. Rather than latching on to any particular style or scene, he focusses on making his own brand of modern house and techno fusions as compelling and original as possible. Often conjuring up rare textures and unconventional sonic kinks, what ties all his music together is a perfect, almost scientific grasp of groove: his every track is a perfectly distilled affair that cannot fail to suck you in and make you move.

Both physical yet playful, his music has made its way into the bags of plenty of key DJs from disparate scenes. Mainly releasing on Hypercolour, Electric Minds and Man Make Music, Shenoda’s recent signing to Aus Music for a brace of new EPs continues to prove he is an ever evolving artist that never sits still. With a unique sense of character continuing as the sonic thread throughout his productions, he ensures he never does the same trick twice and keeps on cooking up raw, rugged tracks that range from pure dancing tackle to more melodic and cerebral affairs.

He himself has also played an enviable selection of leading clubs, from Warehouse Project to Boiler Room, fabric to Studio 80, all of which prove he can switch up his sound to make most sense in any given space: a Shenoda set is defiant of genre, instead remaining focussed on making you dance with whatever seems most apt. As well as this, he also hosts his own tastemaking show on Rinse FM where he indulges all sides of his musical personality. Shenoda’s rare skill in the studio means his tracks manage to do familiar things in unfamiliar ways. His well swung kicks, rich bass and lithe percussion are all so expertly sculpted they leave a lasting impact that will forever stand him apart.
